I already had the canon brand ir remote that's compatible with my camera, canon t1i. but it only works directly in front of the camera and has a 2 second delay. i wanted something more versatile that i could use from any angle and this is it. and the fact that you can half press to focus, was something i wouldn't expect to see out of a product in this price range. i've had it for several months now and havn't had any issues. i've used it from a different room and still got it to fire. i dunno wut the effective range would be. but it works for my needs.the only issues i would add is the battery for the remote is a bit unusual so some people have trouble finding replacements. and as other reviewers have said about this product. the button is sensitive and may get pressed while being stored in a bag. u could either take the battery out. but what i did was i had found a small container that was able to fit both pieces inside snugly. and since the receiver unit is...
