I took this on a a few trips now canoeing and. I will say it's the best being able to feel safe drinking any lake or river water around. I have now bought this as christmas present for others as I find it was the best way to get fresh tasting water in the wilderness. This may be one of my best purchases of 2011.

A quality product. A great addition you your BoB or regular camp kit. I believe in having multiple sources of clean water for emergency use. This is my "fail safe" source of clean water. If you feel that you might ever have to move overland, quickly, with a minimum of gear, pack this item among your other "precious few" supplies. We can go a long time without food, but clean water, every day, is a must. This device will ensure that clean water, in significant quantities, will always be close at hand.

Sawyer’s 4-way filter is a lightweight versatile solution to clean water in the backcountry. This system can be used as a water treatment bottle, inline on a hydration pack, as an ultra light drink straw and attached to a faucet with the included faucet adaptor. Fill up the bottle or your hydration pack directly from a lake, stream or creek, and drink instantly. You can also adapt the standard 63mm cap to your existing bottle. This is a must have when travelling abroad to areas with unsafe drinking water and for disaster preparedness kits. Use the included faucet adaptor to drink straight from the tap during boil alerts or in areas of natural disasters such as floods, hurricanes, and earthquakes. Included is a hydration pack assembly kit for installing the inline filter on a hydration pack. Hollow Fiber Membrane filter physically removes particles, Protozoa, and bacteria down to 0.1 micron absolute in size, including giardia, salmonella and cryptosporidium.This field cleanable solution comes with Sawyers' One Million Gallon guarantee.
